It’s official. Now they’ve thought of everything. Seiko’s new Radio Organizer DF 5013 offers everything you need in an organizer plus a little bit more: an FM radio. So if you’ve ever felt the urge to cut a rug during a business trip, this could be the organizer for you.
On the organizer side of things, the DF 5013 is a comprehensive product. The phone, schedule, and to-do functions are a breeze to figure out, and once you get the hang of typing on the rice-sized keys, it goes rather quickly. We were entering phone numbers and making appointments in no time. Finding your information is also easy as you just open up the organizer and then navigate through the folders of data using the four directional keys.
In addition to the unit’s basic organizer features, the DF 5013 also offers a calculator, a clock with an alarm setting, and a metric conversion feature. We found that the metric conversion feature was also very useful. How many times have you wondered how many kilometers are in a mile or how many grams are in an ounce?
Finally, there is a way to keep your top secret data from prying eyes. The Radio Organizer lets you set a password. Just don’t forget it, or you’ll never get to your secret stuff (and you have to reset the device to use the secret area again).
OK, so we think the Radio Organizer DF 5013 is a good product. But we admit, the feature that drew us to this product is its built-in FM radio. We expected the radio to sound bad, but were pleasantly surprised. There are only two volume settings (low and high) and the push button tuner doesn’t show you where you are on the dial. However, the radio’s Auto Seek function tracks down all the available stations, and once it zeroes in on a signal, the DF 5013 delivers remarkably clear and good sound quality.
